Month after month, an ovum grows in one of your ovaries, which then dissolves and migrates through the fallopian tubes. On the way, the egg waits for a sperm cell. At the same time, your uterus prepares to pick up the fertilized ice so that it can nest in the uterine lining. Now the pregnancy can begin. However, if the egg is not fertilized, the egg and also part of the uterine lining will be expelled - you will get your period.
The calculation of the fertile days
But how do you calculate the fertile days? You only need the last day of your period and you have to specify how long your average cycle lasts. You are unsure how to calculate the cycle length? Your cycle begins on the first day of the menstrual period and ends with the last day of the next period. If you have entered the data in the ovulation calendar, so you get a clue when you have your fertile days.
During this time you should experience exciting hours with your partner - the chance that you will get pregnant in this time window is particularly high. Please note that the ovulation calendar should only be a help, so you know when you have your fertile days - but do not use the results of the ovulation calendar if you want to prevent pregnancy. An ovulation calendar never stands for safe contraception!
Consider your cycle length
As a rule, the female cycle lasts 28 days. However, a cycle can take 21 days or even 35 days. Such fluctuations are normal. Of course, such fluctuations but for a distorted result, so that the ovulation calendar can present only a conditionally correct time window. If you are looking for an ovulation calendar, make sure the calculation takes into account your individual cycle lengths. Only then is it possible for you to be presented with an approximate window of opportunity in which you are particularly fruitful.
What else should you consider?
With an ovulation calendar, you can calculate your fertile days - so it's about answering the question when you'll have your ovulation. If you have an average cycle that usually lasts for 28 days, ovulation will be on the 14th day. The name says it all: the egg actually jumps out of the ovary and out into the fallopian tube - now it's time for fertilization. If you have a longer cycle, the day can naturally shift backwards. You have a shorter cycle? Ovulation will be done before the 14th day.
The right time
But when are the chances for a pregnancy particularly good? Experts advise to sex before ovulation. Due to the fact that male spermatozoa can survive in the vagina, fallopian tube and uterus for two to a maximum of three days, fertilization can take place even if ovulation is only one or two days later. The egg itself can only be fertilized for a maximum of 24 hours. If you have sex on the day of ovulation, that does not mean that you get pregnant immediately: If you have ovulation in the morning and only in the evening sex, so it may be that the egg can not penetrate any more seeds - but you had already Two days before sex, so the sperm cells are already in your body, so that a fertilization is possible.
Does one have an influence on the sex?
You wish you a girl or a boy? You can definitely influence that. The sex of your child is determined by the so-called sex chromosomes. The sperm cells carry the Y or X chromosome, but the mother's ovum always contains the X chromosome. XY gives a boy, XX gives a girl. It should be noted that the X seeds are stronger, larger and slower; The male XY seeds are faster, smaller but shorter-lived. So if you have sex three to four days before ovulation, chances are the long-lived sperm cells will survive - it will be a girl. If you have sex shortly before ovulation, it will probably be a boy, because the XY seeds are much faster.
