The unnoticed pregnancy mark
Any couple eagerly waiting to finally get a positive pregnancy test in their hands will of course be disappointed if the woman suddenly notices a bleeding again. Apparently it did not work again. But a bleeding should not immediately destroy all hope - it can indeed also be a so-called Einnistungsblutung act.
If there is an implantation of the already fertilized egg in the uterus, then slight bleeding is possible. Of particular interest is the fact that this bleeding is relatively common - it is believed that it occurs in about one third of all pregnant women.
But why is the nidus bleeding almost never seen as a sign of pregnancy? The reason is understandable: the one-diarrheal bleeding hardly differs from the monthly period. But those who deal more intensively with the topic, will soon discover that there are a few easily identifiable differences.
What happens at the implantation?
If the ovum has been fertilized, it will take another five to ten days at most to contract in the uterus. At this time, however, there is still no resemblance to a human - the cell cluster, the so-called blastocyst, is still microscopic.
The procedure of implantation:
- The egg is fertilized
- The fertilized egg makes its way through the fallopian tube to the uterus
- Now the implantation of the egg cell takes place
- The implantation is thus completed
- Subsequently, the pregnancy hormone hCG can be detected in the blood
The fertile days of the woman begin around three days before ovulation. The likelihood of a woman becoming pregnant through sexual intercourse is particularly high during this period. If the egg is fertilized, it starts its journey to the uterus. Incidentally, the zygote is already eagerly awaited there: the body has already noticed the first pregnancy symptoms and started to produce the corpus luteum hormones. These help to build up the uterine lining and ensure that it is ready to receive.

The fertilized egg then migrates through the fallopian tube towards the uterine cavity. If the cell were unfertilized, it would be rejected. At this point in time the first divisions of the egg cell take place, which then becomes an embryo.
As a result, the cell then combines with the uterus - which usually happens on the back wall. This process happens after about seven days. A film (epithelium) is then laid over the egg cell - implantation takes place. It should be women who even feel this process in the body and know now to be pregnant.
It is recommended to abstain from caffeine and sport during the implantation phase. Various studies have shown that stress reduces the chance of implantation. However, the implantation can also be favored - such as with appropriate exercise, a lot of sleep and a balanced and healthy diet.
What is meant by a bleeding?
In the medical context, the Einnistungs Bleeding is also called Nidationsblutung ("Nidus" - Latin - here stands for the "nest"). The bleeding occurs when the ovum on the way to the uterus injures smaller blood vessels on the uterine lining. If that is the case, bleeding is possible. It is usually mild spotting - so do not expect to experience heavy bleeding. Incidentally, the likelihood of a nasal bleeding increases in a multiple pregnancy - the likelihood of injuring vessels on the way to the uterus in a multiple pregnancy is much higher.
The Nidationsblutung is not dangerous for the baby by the way. The injuries that occur on the mucous membrane are closed by the body. The process takes a maximum of three days.
Can a difference be found between the period and the bleeding?
As a rule, the menstruation lasts three to seven days. On the other hand, the implantation bleeding lasts one day - sometimes two days. Thus, the duration of Nidationsblutung is much shorter. In addition, after the last menstrual period a whole cycle passes, which - as a rule - lasts around 28 days. However, ovulation occurs already after the half of the cycle - that is, the nidiuretic bleeding is probably perceived between the 19th and 21st day of the last period (thus 7 to 9 days before the next menstrual period).
Sometimes, however, it may happen that the normal period and the Einnistungs Bleed shift so far that an occurrence at the same time is possible. In this case, a difference is barely noticeable. Due to the fact that pregnancy hormones have already been released during successful fertilization, the pregnancy can already be detected in the blood - that is, successful implantation has taken place.
In addition, the color of the bleeding is different - the menstruation is medium red, while the Nidationsblutung is rather darker.
Women, especially those who sometimes suffer from endometriosis, also complain of extremely severe pain during menstruation and suffer from abdominal cramps. The weak bleeding, however, only ensure very gentle abdominal pain; In addition, sometimes missing the cramps. In addition, unscheduled bleeding always means that you may be pregnant and the fertilized egg has already damaged small vessels.
Bleeding can also have other causes. Especially when it comes to a couple with an unfulfilled desire to have children, bleeding is sometimes not seen gladly, because then they cause uncertainty. For this reason, it is advisable if - if one is uncertain - a doctor is contacted.
It is hard to believe that every oocyte will automatically injure the lining of the womb, resulting in a bleeding of the uterus. As mentioned earlier, just one-third of all women notice such bleeding. Another sign that the egg has taken root, could also be the Einnistungsschmerz. This is described as barely perceptible pain - sometimes the women report here about a gentle pulling or pulling, which is then perceived in the abdomen.
In addition, many women complain of nausea such as dizziness and also report a metallic taste in the mouth. Such symptoms only appear for a short time - when the procedure of implantation is over and the woman is "officially pregnant", the signs disappear.
If none of the above-mentioned signs, but that does not mean that it has not come to an implantation. In addition, it must not be forgotten that so far there is no scientific evidence that the so-called Nidations pain really exists. Since the bleeding also does not occur (or is noticed) in every woman, it can not be said here that the missing bleeding is an indication that no pregnancy has occurred.
